University of Western Ontario

Hi folks, welcome to my online construction site! I am a journeyperson carpenter and contractor who, because of a theological crisis of sorts, went back to school later in life to train as a philosopher, first at McMaster University, and now at the University of Western Ontario. My partner for life Rachel made it possible for me, a person with ADHD no less, to pursue this costly passion by taking on a majority of the mental load of raising our four young children. She now works on the leadership team for the L'Arche London community and of the two of us, she is the one who ought really to have a website of her own. By contrast, I am just a (proudly Canadian) guy who likes to sip scotch in his garage a couple times a week as he throws darts and listens to music. Recently, I hired a gifted artist and web designer, Aidan Hennebry of Dog House Design Studio, to build this site for me, so I am excited to see the finished product. In the mean-time, please find below my presentation for the first annual meeting of The Society for Philosophy and Neuroscience.

From Primordial Seas to Neuronal Trees:

Asking Wild Questions in Neuroscience

This is the presentation where I reveal to my academic colleagues that I care more about how water flows in the brain than I do about cognition. Wild right?
